PolicySaint ("we," "us") operates policysaint.com, a free service that helps consumers compare insurance rate information and request quotes from licensed insurance providers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it.
What we collect
- Contact identifiers you provide: first and last name, phone number, email address, street address, city, ZIP code, and state.
- Insurance-related answers you provide, depending on the line you ask about: auto — vehicle details, driving history responses, current insurer and payment range; home — property type, year built, size, roof age, ownership and claims history; life and final expense — date of birth, gender, coverage sought, tobacco use and general health responses; health — household size, income range, current coverage and general health responses; Medicare — Medicare enrollment status and plan interest. Health-related answers are self-reported, used only to match your request, and are not collected from medical providers.
- Technical data collected automatically: IP address, device and browser characteristics, referring page, and interaction timing. We use this to secure the service and detect fraudulent submissions.
- Consent records: the text of the consent you agreed to, a timestamp, and (where enabled) an independent consent certificate.
How we use it
- To match your quote request with a licensed insurance provider and forward your request to them. Each request is forwarded to one matched provider — we do not blast your information to multiple companies at once.
- To verify submissions are genuine (fraud and bot detection) and to maintain records of consent.
- To measure and improve the service (analytics).
Who we share it with
- One matched licensed insurance provider (or its network) per request — the recipient may compensate us for the referral. This sharing may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under certain state privacy laws.
- Service providers that help us operate: hosting, analytics, phone/email verification, and consent certification vendors, bound to use data only to provide their service to us.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights or users' safety.
We do not sell your information to data brokers, and we do not share your contact information with anyone other than as described above.
Your choices and rights
- Opt out of sale/sharing: see Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.
- Access or deletion: residents of certain states may request access to or deletion of their personal information — email partners@policysaint.com and we will respond within the legally required period.
- Stop contact from a provider: you may revoke marketing consent at any time by telling the provider that contacts you, or by emailing us and we will suppress your details from future forwarding.
Data retention and security
We retain lead and consent records as needed to operate the service and meet legal and contractual record-keeping obligations, then delete or anonymize them. Data is stored on access-controlled servers in the United States, encrypted in transit.
Consent, one line at a time
Each insurance line on our site has its own request form and its own consent statement. Your consent applies to the line you asked about; if you ask for a second line (for example a home quote after an auto quote), you provide a separate consent for it. We keep the consent text, timestamp, IP address, device information and an independent consent certificate for each request for five years.
Medicare
Where we offer Medicare plan comparisons, PolicySaint is a third-party marketing organization. We are not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program. Plan availability is explained on the Medicare page and by the licensed agent who contacts you.
Children
The service is intended for individuals 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
